Introduction
I started my Capstone Project by reading Felix Dennis' How to Get Rich for my summer reading. Before I read it, I hoped to have learned more about investments or personal finances through reading the book; however, I learned more about how ideas can turn into businesses.
Felix Dennis grew up in the U.K. and aspired to be a jazz musician. After many years of hard work, he walked away to find opportunities making money as a publisher in the magazine empire. Felix inspires me because he had his whole life planned out and could have made a living as a musician, but instead, he decided to take a risk in a market where he thought he could made a ton of money.
My prior experiences in finance and investing have been through my Junior Interim and work experiences. I wasn’t taught about personal finance or investing, but I was given an opportunity to get more exposure to the real world.
